Jeremy Gross joined The Asia Foundation, Indonesia, as election program manager in 2005. He has a background working on advocacy and elections programs, civic education, and the development of NGO member services for civil society organizations. He has worked in Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.

Jeremy's experience of elections dates from 1999 when he worked with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) to implement their Indonesian election program, focusing on voter education. In 2004, as project consultant with the Solidarity Center, he worked with members of the largest democratic trade union federation in Indonesia to develop their elections program. In 2005, he developed a program for civil society involvement in the Kyrgyzstani presidential election (for Counterpart International) following their sudden change of government in March 2005.

In addition to election programs, while at the Solidarity Center, Jeremy worked with trade unions, NGOs and government officials on national and local-level advocacy issues, including labor law reform, human trafficking, and law enforcement issues. To help build the sustainability of civil society organizations, in particular the recruitment and retention of members, he worked on programs to strengthen member services, including civic education and economic literacy trainings for members.
