Najla Ayubi is The Asia Foundation's Deputy Country Representative in Afghanistan. Judge Najla Ayubi is a lawyer and prior to her appointment to Deputy Country Representative, was Program Director for Law, Human Rights, and Women's Empowerment in The Asia Foundation's Afghanistan office, and contributed greatly to crucial programming efforts including co-authoring the 2011 Survey of the Afghan People as well as the Afghan survey in 2010.

Ayubi is a former prosecutor and Commissioner of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) and the Joint Electoral Management Body (JEMB) of Afghanistan. She also served as a Legal Advisor to the State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs within the Afghan Government. Ayubi was previously Country Director for the Open Society Foundation (OSF's) Afghanistan office. Ayubi also currently sits as an Executive Board Member of the Afghan Woman's Network and Global Advisory Board Member of South Asia Women's Regional Network.

Education: Ayubi holds a master's degree from the Law School of Tajikistan Government University. From 2006-2007 she was an OSI Chevening Scholar at the University of York where she completed a second master's degree in Post-War Recover and Development Studies
