Expertise: program design, monitoring and evaluation, women and development
Nancy is responsible for assisting the Country Representative in managing the Foundation's office in China and the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of program activities in the areas of governance and law, disaster management, environmental protection, women's empowerment, and international affairs. From 2006 to 2009, as Assistant Director and Technical Writer for the Public Sector Development Services Unit at Foundation headquarters in San Francisco, she traveled throughout Asia (including extensively to China) to assist country offices design and develop new programs related to local governance, legal reform, and women's empowerment.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Nancy worked at Chemonics (Asia division) in Washington, D.C., where she gained extensive programming experience by managing and implementing programs focusing on "Women and Development" and "Legal and Institutional Reform." In addition, Nancy has extensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) experience; and an academic interest in development aid effectiveness. Other experience includes work as the Ambassador's speechwriter at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and emerging markets research at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London.
Education: B.A. in Political Science and Political Economy from Johns Hopkins University; M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
