Niroshinie Nayagam managed The Asia Foundation's economic reform and development programs in Sri Lanka from March 2004 to January 2011. She has a wide portfolio with a focus on research, advocacy and private sector partnerships. She coordinated the research team and co-authored the Economic Governance Index 2007 Sri Lanka, which was a pioneering effort in the country. Ms. Nayagam is a citizen of Sri Lanka, and has provided technical support for key Asia Foundation projects including elections monitoring, the Access to Justice program, and Economic Reform and Governance projects. She has also designed and implemented large micro-finance grant programs to recapitalize small businesses. Ms. Nayagam has also worked as the interim Eco-Asia Country Coordinator to help start water and sanitation projects in Sri Lanka. She was the Country Coordinator for a multi-country project targeted at the Garment Sector to set national advocacy agendas. She has experience leading diverse, high-profile delegations including government officials, private sector personnel, and labor union leaders from Sri Lanka for various conferences and study tours. She has traveled extensively to represent the Foundation and to provide technical support to other programs of the Foundation, including work in Bangkok, Cambodia, India, Indonesia and the U.S.
Education: B.Sc.(Honrs.) in Information Systems & Management and Diploma in Economics from London School of Economics.
