Syed A. Al-Muti

Mr. Syed Al-Muti manages the Foundation's economic and business policy reform program in Bangladesh. He is responsible for all aspects of program development, implementation, evaluation and grant/contract administration of all economic programs conducted by the Foundation in Bangladesh. Mr. Al-Muti has experience in diverse areas of Development with strong project design and management skills. He has over 22 years work experience in managing the design and implementation of development programs in Bangladesh, Australia and Papua New Guinea. He has experience in developing strategies and implementing SME development and local capacity building projects. Through his expertise in diverse areas of Development, he has been successful in developing innovative approaches in SME development and business enabling environment at the sub-national level.
Prior to joining the Foundation, he worked as a Policy Officer and Activity Manager with the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) in Australia and managed projects on broad-based growth, disaster management, and peace building in Bougainville. Previously he worked as Project Manager for a large capacity building program with USAID, Bangladesh and Executive Officer for British commodity and project aid program in Bangladesh with The Crown Agents, UK.
Education: He holds a Master in Social Welfare Administration and Planning from the University of Queensland, Australia, a Master in Commerce from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
