Allen Griffin, founding member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees (1954-1981), was an expert in Asian affairs. Among his roles, Mr. Griffin served as a Deputy Chief of China Aid Mission, Economic Cooperation Administration; head of State Department Economic Mission to Southeast Asia; director, Far East program division of Economic Cooperation Administration; special representative, Economic Cooperation Administration and Mutual Security Agency to Far East. Mr. Griffin also served as President of Monterey Peninsula Herald.
