The Asia Foundation Annual Fund is one way that you can, and do, make a difference in the lives of people across the Asia-Pacific region. Your contribution, in any amount, gives us the flexibility to develop projects that meet the diverse needs of local communities.

• In Afghanistan, our Books for Asia staff is currently distributing a 1.2 million storybook donation from Hoopoe Books of Afghan fables to school children across the country.  We hope these books – written in Dari and Pashto, as well as English – will encourage an early love of reading in a country with one of the lowest literacy rates in the world.

• In Mongolia, we've expanded a scholarship program for aspiring young women to pursue four-year science degrees at two of the country's top universities.

• Across Asia, we've spurred business reforms by expanding use of the Economic Governance Index, a tool that ranks the business friendliness of local governments.

The needs of Asia are as varied as the countries in which we work. Your contribution to our Annual Fund helps us meet challenges as they arise.
