Dr. Sohn Bong-Scuk has been an inspiring advocate for the advancement of women in South Korean politics for many years now. As an elected member of Korea’s National Assembly, a former Asia Foundation grantee, and founder of the Center for Korean Women and Politics, Dr. Sohn Bong-Scuk is a long-time supporter of increased female representation in government as a means of improving women’s status in Korean society. Her work aims to provide training and education to potential women candidates at both the local and national levels.
