Books for Asia Celebrates International Literacy Day Across Asia
In celebration of International Literacy Day 2011, The Asia Foundation's Books for Asia program held events across Asia, including a book stamping in Afghanistan; drawing and reading competitions and student performances in Timor-Leste; book donation ceremonies at the National Orphanage and Care Center in Mongolia; in Cambodia; in Davao City with Kiwanis International in the Philippines; and in Jakarta, Indonesia, with the Community Learning Centers that serve street children, and beyond.
