Books for Asia Celebrates International Literacy Day 2012
The Asia Foundation marked International Literacy Day with story writing contests, teacher training workshops, book donations, and more in 12 countries. The events took place in capital cities as well as some of the most remote corners of Asia, from a rural village in eastern Indonesia to an underprivileged school in New Delhi and a children's museum in Manila, Philippines. International Literacy Day is celebrated worldwide each year on September 8th.
