Asia Foundation Development Fellows in Philippines and Singapore
On April 3-13, The Asia Foundation hosted the inaugural class of The Asia Foundation Development Fellows: Emerging Leadership for Asia's Future program in Singapore and the Philippines. The 10 fellows – an accomplished group of change makers representing nine Asian countries – gathered first in Singapore for a leadership training workshop with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
In Manila, the Fellows engaged with leading Philippine development innovators and recognized policy-makers including Rappler, Devex, and the Asian Development Bank. Fellows also traveled to the earthquake-affected area of Bohol for on-the-ground insights on development challenges. A leading international nonprofit, the Foundation has been supporting emerging development leaders for many decades. This year, as the organization marks its 60 years in Asia, it continues this tradition by nurturing the next generation of leaders in their efforts to respond to the critical issues impacting Asia.
