TLAC: Tsunami Rights and Legal Aid Referral Center
The Indian Ocean Tsunami of December 2004 left severe legal repercussions in its wake -- such as land disputes, death certificates for missing people, and applications for the adoption or guardianship of tsunami orphans. Many Thai citizens lacked the means or information to seek legal solutions to these challenges. The Asia Foundation set up the Tsunami Rights and Legal Aid Referral Center (TLAC) to meet this need.
