Mongolian NGOs Meet and Critique the New Anti-Corruption Law

On November 3, 2006, The Asia Foundation hosted a breakfast roundtable for 9 non-governmental organizations on the new Anti-Corruption Law which came into force two days earlier. For two hours, participants, including leading civil society representatives, academics and donors explored the strengths and weaknesses of the new law, and the challenge that lies ahead with regard to implementation. The purpose of the roundtable was to establish a common framework for future civil society engagement in the ongoing process of legal reform, and to ensure implementation of this important law through coordinated oversight and monitoring.
